By extension, the Slate monoliths and menhirs refer to both monoliths (natural origin), an accident geomorphological feature, similar to a mountain, and to a man-made sculture, who has carved them as monuments and extracted them from the quarries, since the antiquity. Nowadays they are still being used in landscaping, garden decoration, to define spaces or to create decorative monument in Japanese gardens, also called Zen gradens. They can combine with any other type of stone or vegetation. Each piece is unique and unrepeatable.
We have many monoliths and menhirs available in our display in Castejon (Navarra), Spain.
