This is a distinctive white stone with black spots and shiny details.
This kind of rocks are widely used in Japanese, Zen and Karesansui gardens.
Karesansui is a style of Japanese dry garden. It is a shallow sandy field, containing sand, gravel, rocks and sometimes grass and moss and other natural elements as well. It is used as a meditation form by Japanese Zen monks.
They are gardens-scene, and therefore limited in size (10×30 meters max.). The raked sand represents the sea, around the rocks the sand is raked in rings, as ripples in the water. Elsewhere in the garden, the sand is raked in parallel to the platform.
